Next Meeting

Our next program meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 13 Jul, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:30 at DSDHH’s Raleigh Regional Center at 4900 Waters Edge Drive, Raleigh 27606. See Latest Newsletter at lower right. See a Map.

We’ll have experts discuss things you should know abpit safety and security as someone with hearing loss. Our hearing loss means we need to be particularly aware of things like 911, fire safety, interactions with law enforcement, and personal safety. You won’t want to miss that meeting.

The room is looped, so people with telecoils in their hearing aids or accessories, will be able to hear at their best. We also expect to have all the discussion captioned, so even if you can’t hear with the loop, you’ll be able to follow with the projected text.

Everyone is welcome. Bring Friends and Families and learn more about hearing your best in public situations like movies and theatre.

Hope to see everyone there.

  • We meet several times a year for program meetings about hearing loss. We also meet for social events including breakfasts at local restaurants, and dinner out or covered dish suppers in the Summer and during December.

March 2017 Adobe Accessibility

An audioloop is provided at all meetings so people with telecoil equipped hearing aids or cochlear implants can hear the audio as well as possible. A Computer Aided Notetaker (CAN) types and displays the text of all speech at most meetings so even people who can't hear at all can follow the meeting.

Funding and Treasurer

HLAA Wake Chapter is supported completely by volunteers. We have no local dues and are funded by donations. We recommend that you join the HLAA national organization at www.hearingloss.org, because without the HLAA national organization, we wouldn't exist. But everyone is welcome to participate in our local chapter.

HLAA Wake Chapter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our EIN is 27-5116656. You can also View our Approval letter from the IRS. Depending on your tax situation, your donations to our Chapter may be tax deductible.

Donations can be brought to meetings or sent to our Treasurer:
