Completely In the Canal (CIC)

Completly In the Canal (CIC) describes a type of hearing aid that is so small that it fits right into the ear canal. It has the advantage that it's usually less visible that the ITE or BTE aids, but its disadvantages include smaller batteries (with shorter lifespans), lower power, and fewer features (eg usually, no T-Switch).

CIC aids may be suitable fittings for people with less serious losses, who don't plan to use assistive technology, but anyone with a more serious loss should definately consider other aid types including BTEs, where very useful features are available.
